Spring is the time when life’s alive in everything. ~ Christina Rosetti
Spring is a time to awaken, renew and remember who you are beyond your thoughts.
Just the other day I was sitting in my yard enjoying the weather and the new flowers that have awakened with new life. But I found myself caught up in my old way of thinking. You know—the why, what and who to blame for feeling stuck in my life.
As I continued to grumble, I found myself tuning into the trees around me and I had this sudden revelation. You could say it was an awakening of the reality that surrounds me, but I seldom take time to notice, especially when I’m grumbling!
One tree in particular caught my eye and a wealth of new understanding about my place in the world flowed through me.
A tree is always a tree doing what trees are created to do, without thoughts, worries, or beliefs that complicate their lives. Then I thought about myself as this Being who is always a Being.
Do I allow myself to do what Beings are created to do as easily as a tree allows itself to be a tree? Do I allow myself to just Be just as a tree does?
A tree doesn’t worry if its leaves will be abundant or unfurl that day. Nor does the tree feel unloved or unworthy be itself. It simply lives from its own Presence and everything flows from there.
We are like trees. All of us. A tree is a Being. And we are Beings as well.
So…can you sit in the presence of your Being and just allow yourself to Be?
Spring is the time of renewal. Take some time and go hug a tree. Notice how your mood and life changes when you learn to Be like a tree.
