You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy. ~unknown
All this month we are focusing on love, relationships and happiness. We all want the same things; maybe not in the same way, but still the same basic things. To be loved. To find happiness. And to be in loving relationship with others.
So where do you start finding this love, these relationships and happiness? The answer may surprise you…or not.
The greatest love of all is the love you hold for yourself, within yourself. On all levels and in all ways. It is you, loving yourself, from the inside out. From the most hidden, special parts deep inside of you all the way to how you look, talk and think.
Deep within you dwells the truth of who You are, the magic and mystery that is uniquely you, and the Love and Happiness that only you can share with others.
In today’s society, being in love within yourself is often judged unacceptable or egotistical. But the truth is – if you can’t love yourself first, how can you ever truly be open to being loved by another? And isn’t that what we all want—to be seen, accepted and loved by at least one other person on this planet?
How much time do you give waiting—even commanding—for someone or something to love you, save you, accept you. Waiting for someone or something outside of yourself to tell you that you are ok; that you are loveable.
The greatest gift you give the world is to love yourself completely. To be so in love with yourself, so connected with the Sacred Loving Self that you are, that everyone you meet will recognize that same knowing in themselves. They begin to love themselves in the same way and share it with others.
And that my friends is how you change the world.
